Faculty Search in Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Emory University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 2017. While we are seeking an Assistant Professor, in unusual circumstances we will also consider applicants at the Associate Professor rank. We seek a scholar who specializes in the study of race, social inequality, and/or social justice. We welcome applications from candidates whose work is explicit in its use of social theory and rigorous qualitative and/or quantitative research methods. We also welcome applications from scholars who in their research and teaching will offer unique and compelling perspectives on diversity.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses related to the individual’s specializations as well as more general introductory courses in Anthropology. Consistent with Emory’s mission of engaged scholarship and excellence in liberal arts education, we seek a scholar with a documented record of innovative field research, demonstrated strength in teaching, and a PhD in hand by the time of appointment.
